November 2018

Ken Kiff: The Sequence – curated by Emma Hill, is open at the Sainsbury Centre, Norwich until 21 April 2019.

The first museum exhibition for 25 years re-assesses the work of this distinguished artist and teacher, through the focus of an extraordinary series of almost 200 paintings on paper, which Kiff began in 1971 and continued to work on intermittently until his death in 2001.

Stephen Chambers’ solo exhibition The Court of Redonda, curated by the Eagle Gallery’s Director Emma Hill, has been selected as a Collateral Event of the International Art Exhibition – La Biennale de Venezia. The exhibition takes place at Ca’ Dandolo, Grand Canal, San Polo 2879, 30100 Venice from 13 May – 26 November 2017 (Tuesday – Sunday 10 – 6pm).

Works by Denise de Cordova, Julia Farrer, James Fisher, Peter Rasmussen and Carolyn Thompson are currently on show in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2016 (until 21 August).

Press and Release: Technology and the Evolution of the Artist’s Book at the Phoenix Brighton, which features the work of Julia Farrer and Carolyn Thompson, is the winner of the 2016 Brighton Fringe Award for Visual Art.

Despite the difficult climate of continuing cuts to public funding for public institutions, the Eagle Gallery is delighted that over the past year we have made significant sales of our represented artists’ work to major international institutions including the Museum Pfalzgalerie, Kaiserslautern; the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Yale Center for British Art, USA.

Corporate collections Fidelity and Penguin Books, have acquired works by Mandy Bonnell and Carolyn Thompson, respectively.

Julia Farrer’s new etchings Snare I & II 2016 have been purchased by Fidelity, and Carolyn Thompson’s triptych Night Terrors 2016, by the Laurence Sterne Trust, Shandy Hall.

Both publications have been shortlisted for inclusion in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2016, alongside works by other Eagle Gallery artists Denise de Cordova and James Fisher.

Technology and the Evolution of the Artist’s Book

The work of Julia Farrer and Carolyn Thompson features in a group exhibition curated by the US artist and gallerist Maddy Rosenberg. In an installation designed by Curious Space, the exhibition features innovative book works from across the world.
