Natalie Dower was born in London in 1931 and studied at St Martins School of Art, Camberwell School of Art and Crafts and the Slade School of Fine Art, London (1948 – 1954).
Her first solo shows were held at the Concourse Gallery, Polytechnic of Central London (1979) and the Riverside Studios (1981). Other solo exhibitions include the Air Gallery (1983); Gummesons Konstgalleri, Stockholm (1986); Transformations / Transformations 2 / The Secret Life of the Grid and Out of the Arc at the Curwen Gallery (1987, 1990, 1992 & 1995 respectively), and Within Measure Francis Graham Dixon Gallery, London (1997). Dower has shown in several important group exhibitions including the Hayward Annual in 1982 and the Countervail exhibitions in 1992 and 1993.
In 2012 the Eagle Gallery launched a major publication about her work: Line of Enquiry with a solo exhibition of the same name. She has recently participated in group exhibitions including the Lion and Lamb Summer Saloon and Chance and Order Eagle Gallery. London, 2014.
Dower’s work is held in public and private collections around the world including Arthur Anderson UK.; the Arts Council England; the Government Art Collection, the Mondriaanhuis, Holland and Warwick University.
